Who Invented What?

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Let me just remind you a little about my previous post titled ‘Ingenuity Personified – A Collage of Futuristic Luminaries’. If you recollect, I presented a collage of some ingenious inventors and innovators in the post! I do not really know, if you could identify all of them. If you could, that is great and congratulations! If not, never mind! Are you wondering, why? Well, simply because, in this post I not only reveal all the legendary inventors and innovators who were part of the collage in the preceding post, but also map them to some of their truly remarkable inventions

This is probably the Inventor-Invention Matrix! Okay, here is how I have designed the matrix!  The matrix is a 14*14 matrix encompassing 14 rows of Inventors and 14 columns of Inventions. Every Inventor is mapped to his respective Invention with a 1 in the matrix indicating that the particular inventor has in fact invented the invention. For other inventions, not associated with him (i.e., the inventor), the value is a 0 in the matrix. Following this logic and presenting the Invention-Inventor Matrix below:

The Inventor-Invention Matrix:

Note: The pink-colored cells contain 1s indicating that the Inventor along the row invented/innovated the Invention (Innovation) along the column.

The Inventor-Invention Mapping:

In case, you could not comprehend the above Inventor-Invention Matrix, it  translates to the following matched pairs of pictures of Inventor-Invention:

Note: Some misalignment in columns may be noted due to difference in sizes of images.  This is regretted.

Now, that we understand with certainty, who invented what, it is time to conclude this post!

Conclusion:

I would like to conclude this post with some noteworthy quotes by some of the innovators above

  1. Failure is only the opportunity to begin again. Only this time more wisely. - Henry Ford
  2. Many life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. - Thomas Alva Edison
  3. Try not to become a man of success but rather try to be a man of value.  - Albert Einstein
  4. Creativity is just connecting things.  - Steve Jobs
  5. It is fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure. - Bill Gates
Hope, you found this post innovative as well as informative!
